need some help guys. I'm getting ready to paint the 66. I saved my vin tag from the original door when I removed it. The repop door that I bought has the holes on an angle. From what I recall, mine was roughly perpendicular to the door when I removed it. I'm thinking I may not have the correct holes and I didn't think to take a pic. of the old door before removing the tag. My assy. manuals haven't been any help. Could somebody take a pic. of their door tag and post it for me? I'm planning on painting the car tommorrow...Also, should the tag be painted on the car or is it natural? My car was originally white and had a respray when I bought it (also white). My tag is painted, but I'm not sure if it should be...If it's not supposed to be painted, my need is not as urgent as I'll put it on after paint. If you want to block your actual vin # in paintshop or whatever, that's fine. I just need to see what holes the tag should be mounted to.
My 65 Mustang is on an angle! It's a 66 Tag, the owner I got the car from bought the 66 tag and not the bigger 65 one! I've seen them both straight and angled!
