Has anyone purchased this kit? I'm looking for a good cheap front mount setup that will work with 550hp. It doesnt say how much power for the intercooler, is there anyway to find out?

OR what about this one, looks similar just not black and no blow off valve.

Why do you say that, please elaborate... Also what is IMO an acronym for?

If your refering to the quality of the intercoolers then your its a hit and miss because i used to own an eclipse gsx and i bought a front mount for $200 and it was a good kit, held together all the way up to 24psi, with minimal boost loss.

It is a good price..but I am not sure if it is a good product...I didn't see anywhere the brand name of the intercooler...I have a treadstone...and have been happy with that..

Boost loss is not a big deal...put on a smaller pulley for a hundred bucks and it will more then compensate for that little bit of loss....intercooler is worth it for the cooler air!

Well to anyone who might be interested in this type of kit, check out these guys over here, apparently they think highly of the kit and it works well.

cxracing is the manufacturer and they make good intercooler kits, search on some import, supra, even bimmer forums. they have a good name, the boost loss will be about 2psi btw that thread on modularfords was started by me, that's my green vert

I'm looking into getting a Votech V-2 SQ trim blower. This intercooler setup looks real nice. Anybody go w/ these kits? Did it come with all plumbing and everything you need?

Thanks.

From everything I have heard--the cxracing intercooler is the way to go. I will be going that route once I decide that it is needed for my "mild" setup.

I guess i forgot to update

We'll I went ahead and purchased the cxracing kit. The kit was pretty good, i had it custom fit to my car and the way i wanted. It came out really nice. The Kit works extremely well. My IAT's were barly 10* above ambient and on the dyno my temps never went above 95* at max WOT at 6500rpms. The temp in the air controlled room was 77*

He asked me what kind of intercooler i got because it worked really well, I told him ebay and his face dropped! It was crazy. He was like wow, i guess ill have to recommend them lol.

As for psi drop, we have no idea I put on a 2.87 pulley and got some belt slip at 6300rpm. On the dyno i only made 14psi but after i got it home it decided to tighten up some pipes because it felt a little low, after that i was putting out 17-18psi and i wish i did that before the dyno. So if you do put on on, double check everything before the dyno.

Mine is just a S-trim v2 SQ so its pretty much maxed and outputting 500hp at 14psi and not with 17-18psi im guessing anywhere from 540-570rwhp. This was all done on the new cutting edge mustang dyno.

Good luck with the choice. Just remember that some custom fabbing will be required but worth it. Instead of putting it behind the bumper support i had it cut out so the intercooler can get all the air and cool better.

Here are some photos of the finished product. I cant get good photos of the fender, but my air filter is actually right next to my front bumper for the coldest air possible lol. You can see the line in the front bumper which shows you exactly how close it is. The pictures arn't the best, but its all i can do in short time lol. I hope this helps.

The couplers that were included were not used, We got some turbo ones and slapped them on because the amount of boost I'm pushing.
