I have a '99 GT with a Paxton Novi 1000 blower. Since installation and the fuel system upgrades I have had an issue with warm starting. The cold start is perfect but after driving there seems to be a fuel delivery issue. For example, tonight I had to push the accelerator to the floor to get a start. Once started it runs perfectly. An ideas? This is not my daily driver.

What are the fuel system upgrades that you did?

Does the car crank just fine or is it sluggish?

Any codes?

The usual I guess...fuel pump and injectors. Cold start is perfect but every start after is sluggish like there’s a fuel delivery issue. But it runs perfectly after start.

Ok, let me help you out here, what size injectors and pump? Does the engine spin as fast when it's hot compared to cold?

I would like to know what the PCM "thinks" the values are for:
  • Input air temperature (IAT)
  • Engine coolant temperature (ECT)
  • Fuel rail pressure sensor (FRPS)
  • Mass air flow (MAF)
Here's some information on an affordable Windows based ODB2 scanner.

I don't remember the details of the fuel pump and injectors. On cold start it cranks immediately. On warm start it usually cranks quickly but there is some hesitation initially then it idles fine. But the last warm start it turned over for several seconds and I had to attempt the start 3 or 4 times and it finally started when I floored the accelerator, like it was a carb'd car. I have an SCT X4 tuner and an iPhone app OBD2 scanner. This is not my daily driver so it will probably be a few days before I drive it again.

It could be something in the tune needing adjusted to lower the fuel being sprayed upon cranking (there is a term for this that is eluding me).

Yeah but there should be cold and warm start settings for the fuel retard.

Do you want these values on a cold start and then a warm start?
