HAHAHAHAHA! What a maroon! He needs to get his head out of his ass and travel more in his own state. Electric-only vehicles WILL NOT WORK in the rest of the state. Period. Hopefully he gets voted out of office soon and the next Governor tears up that useless edict.

Compulsory mask-wearing in Pacific Northwest caused spirited debate -- and a jury trial -- during 1918-19 flu pandemic

The debate during the second wave of the deadly flu pandemic was about the tradeoff between individual freedoms and the exercise of official power for the “public good.”

I can't imagine living in a place like that. Then they wonder why a person could shoot a place up.

Please remember that in several of the states listed, it's the big chittys that have the vast majority of the problems. The entire rest of the state is filled with plain ol' normal folks, who are as disgusted as everyone else with what they have to put up with.

So what happens if you go there on vacation? Are you required to leave your gas powered vehicle at the border? What about all the flights coming in and out? Are they to be electric as well? Not to forget about shipping of consumer goods, small engine tools and motorcycles.

What a waste of taxpayers time and money pushing crap like this through the system.

Massachusetts is also on the list.

I don't see it happening. It's entirely too optimistic and the infrastructure won't support it. This is all for show, and i can see this getting delayed/cancelled as the time draws near.

To start developing infrastructure for this is impossible. It's also not practical for many communities. For example, many communities here are apartment style dwellings with on-street parking. How does one park their mandated EV to charge it? What apartment manager is going to invest tons of money into providing the infrastructure when their lower income renters are still driving 10+ year old gas cars and may never be able to afford an EV? What do you do in a blizzard when power get knocked out for 1-2 days and you can't charge your car?

I just don't see it happening, nor agree with it being mandated. If people want EV tech, then will adopt it on their own. For the most part, that is what i am seeing here in MA, but everyone who owns an EV that i know also owns a gas vehicle, because you can't tow a boat to the lake for a week up in Maine with an EV.(yet)

The recent cold spell with rolling blackouts or worse, and California’s regular summertime troubles tell me there is not the capacity in the rest of the system for a lot more electric vehicles. We already need power grid and generation upgrades. I hope market forces get upgrades going.

What happened in TX is another example of fragile infrastructure.

EV's are a great novelty right now, but too much dependence on them too soon, before the infrastructure is upgraded to be redundant and allow for widespread use is dangerous.

I have nothing against EV's in general and think they are great. I just think widespread adoption is more like 50 years out, vs 10 years. I think we are going to need gasoline vehicles for some time to come.

As someone who once lived in California, air pollution is still a real thing. Dense population, combined with geologic and atmospheric conditions that are not conducive to good airflow cause the air, at times to look as though it were pea soup.

There've been a number of evolutions/revolutions in automotive history. At each step there are people on both sides of every issue. Catalytic converters weren't the death of performance. The death of the carburetor didn't signal the end of the automobile. Cars evolve with time, trends, technology, etc.

I own a plug-in hybrid Fusion and love that I can run more than a thousand miles between gas fill-ups because I can charge that 7kwh battery everytime I pull in the garage.

In most of these cases, there's still a place for enthusiasts to keep their dino-oil driven fun cars.

This isn't worrisome, it will be good, especially as the aftermarket picks up their pace with the development of performance parts for EVs.

It is the sale of NEW gas vehicles that’s addressed. It looks like you can still drive your old Dino mobile and buy used, if they still sell fuel locally. So I see dealerships across the state lines going well.
London is another matter.
