I have a strange problem wiith my car, I thought it was an exhaust leak, but I don't think so anymore

Here's what happens:
Sometimes I will go to drive my car and when it starts up It sounds like it has an exhaust leak, and when driven the leak sounds hella loud and performance is decreased, no bucking or anything it just feels like its towing something

Other times i will start it and it will idle without any leaking noises and then when i drive it it feels great, there is no leaking noise and the exhaust sounds awsome and performance is very much increased, for instance today I was driving it and it sounded great and it was burning the rear tires in 2nd, when it sounds bad it barely squeeks them in 1st

My timing is set at 14, but I had this same problem when it was at 10 and 12, and I used to think it was pinging so I had it down to 8 a few times with the same problems.

What gets me is that it is intermittent, seems like a leak would be constant.

Temp has no effect on it, summer winter its still intermittent

Im really confused, any help would be appreciated.

Plugs are newish Autolites, Wires are newish Bosch, Cap rotor and Coil newish MSD, o2's are less than a year old, IAC was cleaned a few months ago, PCV is a month old.

thanks

you know whats funny, my friends wife drove his brand new dodge dooly with the ebrake on for the whole ride back from the lake. When she got home, his brakes were glowing red and smoking. He was so pissed. I had to laugh but man what a waste of a new trucks brakes.

Lifter going bad? That could cause loud ticking and decreased performance.

Plug both pipes with your hands, see if it'll spit out exhaust under the car..

you have aftermarket headers?

They might of come loose, usually that's the case.
And you say the H pipe is junk... prime suspect...

They are Both BBK, the headers seem fine, it sounds like its coming from the passenger side collector, but like i said its intermittent, some days the car will sound awsome and some it will sound really quiet and the leak will be really bad

If it was a lifter wouldn't it click at idle too?

I would think that a hydarulic lifter on it's way out would exhibit these symptoms erratically until it just breaks......
