what and where is the silencer?

Its the rubber piece that goes from where your Air filter housing is and goes into the fender well.

i wonder if mine was removed by the previous owner. i can look at my "airbox" and see a little bit of the filter.

actually you will notice it in higher RPMS it seems like it got closer to redline..or atleast pulled better up at 5600rpms

Dyno pulls actually showed a loss of a few HP when removing it ... Check 5.0 mag a few issues back

i left mine in.. but i removed the maf screen so i could atleast think i did something...

Ummm..... doesn't it say hp went from 219 to 223 after removing the silencer?

Oops, I read his post too fast, I thought he said gain, not loss

Twitch, Thanks for posting that. When I first started here and started asking about the silencer everyone said "you wont gain anything its a waste of time".

I did it anyway and your link confirms what I suspected all along.

lol Ok, just thought maybe they retested it and lost hp or something, and I missed that part.
