hey guys i am asking for my brother since he has a 2004 mustang gt 5spd and i am trying to convince him to get 3:73 gears as i know the benefits to this as i had a 2000 mustang gt with gears also. its been awhile for me, but what options are there to recalibrate the speedo???

i know of the tuner and speed cal, are there any other more affordable options or any other options to consider? i have read about tooth's but i don't know if they work on an 04...

also since he will be checking this thread out if you can offer word of advice on you experience with gears and if they are a must do mod? ( i know that answer to that already but he needs to say other people say similar...)

also is it hard to find a true ford racing 3:73 set of gears not a motive one?

the gear driven speedo went away in 96 (correct me if i am wrong) the only way to take care of the speedo issue, is re tune the computer. as far as the gears them selves, i have 4.10's and love them.

Gear driven stayed through 98 right?

Either way an 04 only uses electronic speedo. So a tuner, tune, chip, speed cal...u get the idea.

FRPP 3.73 gears are not difficult to find. I have them on my car.

unless you wanna go all out and do a 9 in. like me. but their a bit more expensive. but anywhere between 3:73 and 4:10 and you will be very happy. detroit lockers are by anymeans incredibly awesome.
