I work at the assembly plant that will make these vehicles starting in January 2006. Im wondering what everyones opionions are as the sales of these three SUV's have alot to do with my future.
The Caliber http://www.autoblog.com/entry/1234000433053586/ will be the first car out early next year. I have driven a few of them and they are pretty nice. Good looking interior with alot of room, lots of options including AWD. It has a Constant Variable Transmission, its odd driving a car that doesnt shift at all..lol Its a nice sporty looking mini SUV but it personally doesnt do much for me.
The Jeep Compass

will be out in the middle of next year and this is the one I like the most. It has a Ralley car look to it and will eventually be offered with a Turbo 2.4 and AWD.
Finally, the Jeep Patriot

will be late in 2006. It is the bolder, tougher mini SUV and will be Jeep Trail Rated (whatever that means). This is a direct comptetor to the Ford Escape and other small 4x4's. Anything with the Jeep name seems to sell and thats what Im hoping about these two vehicles. Plus all three are supposed to have a MSRP of under $20,000.
