ok i had an oil leak probem, oil was leaking a bit and the car was smoking alot when i would get on it. i changed the PCV valve and put new valve cover gaskets on and the smoking stopped for a bit but oil was leaking but not as much, oil still leaks a little and the car smokes a little bit now, the PVC valve helped alot i think. but what else could be the problem? thanks

Where is it leaking? Sounds like a rear main seal to me...

or are you 100% it is a leak and that the car isn't burning the oil.....I assume you have checked the exhaust no?

the oil only seams to be on the driver side valve cover, nad it doesn't spill oil it's just on top of the valve cover adn around it. nad the car smokes when u get on it, if it's a rear main seal, how much is it to fix?

unfortunatly a rear main seal is a PITA. For a 5 dollar part its going to take probably 4+ hours in labor i would guess. You have to either take the engine out or you have to take the tranny out... I would say nothing less then 250 bucks, I could be way off on that though..

Is it burning oil on the inside or the outside of your exhaust?

Get under the car and see if you can any oil? Is it leaking onto the ground? You will be able to see oil under your car if its a rear main.

You will have to get under your car and look. If you see oil at the bottom of back of the motor and on the bellhousing that is what it would be.

But as i asked before is it burning oil on the inside or outside of your exhaust?

I would say do a compression test on it.. Maybe you got a bad piston ring or something
