What's the part number for the Motorcraft filter everyone uses? I heard there is a better one and regular one.

Stupid question... I just purchased a 12 000 miles Stang GT that has always been serviced at the dealer. Does Ford put syntec or mineral oil?

Valvoline and Motorcraft filter. I figure if Ford uses it, it must be ok.

Yup....conventional oil and a Motorcraft filter. You could spend more money on synthetic if you want, but why bother? The Dino oil will do you just fine and save you money in the short and long run.

The dealer uses the Motorcraft oil which is a synthetic blend. (mineral based)

Not necessarily....I used to work the lube rack for a Ford dealership and the base oil change did not get you a Ford synthetic blended oil. Just plain, old tried and true mineral oil pumped out of the bulk containers.

It's going to be a dealer preference on that one.
