Seen it in numerous photos, but have been unsuccessful finding information about it's modifications. This is hands down the best looking s197 Mustang -period. I have a bad feeling though that it is merely conceptual, and isn't available in aftermarket body kits.

Forgive the no thumbnail, I don't know how to do that .

The closest thing to it is the saleen, but $15,000 in custom paint according to their site...on top of a $41,000 car - uh no.

Anyone have any idea?

I agree about that being the BEST-looking S-197 period!!!
I was so excited when I first saw this concept, and was slightly disappointed when I saw the actual Production Version.
The Front Fascia, Hood, Scoops, Seats, Steering Wheel, Roof, Wheels, I mean everything on that Concept is Beautiful!!! Too bad Ford decided to scrap that idea in Production Models... Oh well...
But I still LOVE my GT!!!

Any ideas on the paint color?

It's too light to be Tungsten Grey, and too shiny to be the Satin Silver. Custom job or just Satin Silver HIGHLY waxed?

Just for the record, it's means it is. You wanted its.
Sorry, but that's a pet peeve of mine since I teach journalism on the university level and I see the incorrect use all of the time.

I have no idea why they didn't just go straight to production with that - perhaps they couldn't keep it in the mid $20k price range which they were gunning for. Here's an Idea, stick a 5.0L 400 HP engine in that and sell it.

Still any info on that color - standard mustang color with a really good wax (satin silver maybe?), or expensive custom paint job?

Yes, you're right. I have a Mustang book with a pic of a convertible version done in red.

I saw the concept in Detroit at Ford's 100th Anniversary. The hood looks like what was first proposed for the GT 500.
I actually like the production model better. I know many don't, but I do.

After 30 minutes of googling I found the color; its called Tungsten Silver. I think it was made specifically for a special edition Ford GT, and they just also used it on the concept Mustang.

Wonder how much it would cost to get a stock Mustang painted with that color . With the other Mustang color options, black is looking better and better.

I was going to mention that because my GT is Tungsten Silver. That Concept just has a really Nice Wax Job and the lighting is always perfect in those pictures! Tungsten Silver was a Stock color for the 2006 Mustangs. I have the Tungsten Silver Exterior with the Red Interior because I fell in love with that Concept.... I just wish that I had that hood, and those wheels, and those louvers.. well, you get the picture.

The Tungsten Silver, not Tungsten Grey, is truly an awesome color - it's just that deep brillant shine I'm looking for. Plus, the red interior on it is awesome.

Reign, did it cost extra for the Tungsten Silver on the Mustang GT, and are you happy with the paint job? Does the color respond well to wax (meg or zaino)? Any idea if Ford would paint a 2007 Mustang in this color?

Yeah, I LOVE the color!
To answer your questions:

1. As stated before, Tungsten was a Stock Color in 2006, so it didn't cost any extra. I think that this year (2007) Tungsten was replaced with Alloy Grey (correct me if I'm wrong...). But if it's still available, it shouldn't cost any extra because it's a "factory" color.

2. I LOVE the color!!! I get compliments on the Paint-Job all of the time and because it has a Metallic-finish, it looks awesome when the sun hits it. It has a very deep and brilliant shine when it is clean and waxed. And plus, it doesn't show dirt very well, so even when the car is dirty, it still looks clean.

3. As far as waxes go, a lot of people use Zaino's, but I prefer Meguiar's Products. Meguiar's wax goes on very smoothly and wipes off effortlessly. Meguiar's gives the Tungsten Paint a Mirror like finish. The first time I waxed my GT, someone walked up and asked me if I had a Custom Paint Job. I credit that comment to Meguiar's.

Anyway, enough babbling... I am very pleased with this Color and quality of it's Finish. Thanks for asking.

Just to double check - the color on your GT and Mustang GT is "Tungesten Silver", not "Tungsten Grey". Tungsten grey is too purplish, and Satin Silver is too grey - I'm looking for that, as you put it, metallic shine.
