Go with either the Steeda tri-ax or the Pro 5.0

I don't think that you can go wrong with the Pro 5.0 or the Steeda Tri-Ax. There are many guys on here with them, and they all seem to work good.

I have a Steeda myself but the Pro 5.0 is a good one also. Can't go wrong with either one.

I've got the Steeda Triax in mine. I love it.

Word of caution: don't powershift into third- with any shifter.

anything will be better than stock. I steared away for the 5.0 becaue of the very short handle. short throw is cool but if the ergonomics suck who cars. I have never used one though. just looked very short. read some reports of gear noise on the steeda. bough hurst. no noise, same ergonomics as stock even though the shifter is lower. don't know how the "throw" compares to the others but it is shorter than stock.

Pro 5.0 w/Steeda tri-ax shift handle here. Wanted the shorter throw of the Pro 5.0 without the noise of the Steeda but didn't like the short shift handle on the Pro 5.0.

I have the blue thunder from UPR and love it. It is way better than stock and it is really quiet, only a little louder than stock when going really slowly down a hill. I got mine a while ago and it has the trick shifter which is nice but I think they are offering an adjustable handle now, that would be cool. I am 6' 2" also and I can reach the shifter just fine and it is in the low position.

We have both but my preference is the Pro 5.0. Wishing now we had bought another Pro 5.0, but instead got the Tri-Ax for the 01. The Pro 5.0 is just tighter, firmer...and yeah, it's shorter...it's supposed to be! If it ends up being to much of a reach for you, the Tri-Ax handle bolts right up and is less than $30.
