what speedo gear

as it says what speedo gear do i need for my 95 with 17x9 on 255/40/17 and 355 gears?www.bieberfever.com told me i needed a red 21 tooth and the steeda site says a black 20.anyone know for sure.

There is no correct answer without knowing what transmission is in the car.

Either one will probably be close enough. It's not an exact science.

it has the stock t-5 .

Neither. The 23 tooth gear is the correct one for 3:55 gears with a T-5. The 20 tooth is for an AODE transmission with 3:55's

Mustangsunlimited.com lists all the spedo gears and what transmission (auto or manual) they are for and for which rear end gears.

...Or you can calculate it using Ford's chart (PDF).

see what im talking about....steeda says one thing, ford racing says something else.so whos right.everyone you ask says something different.

That's because Ford used different drive gears in similar applications. So the really correct answer is to confirm the drive gear tooth/colour and then use the correct driven gear to match the differential gear. Then you could just by my unneeded electronic speedo recalibrator and be precise with each and any possible combination.

I sent you a separate email. Better in that the unit can be configured for GM, Ford, Chrysler and Import vehicles as well. That may or may not be important. Send me a PM and we'll discuss price there.
