On a 96 Gt that is dark blue and 18" chrome bullets. I am thinking of 15% or lower. I don't care if its legal or not. Thanks.

ANything less than 15% and you can't see **** at night.

Not fun when it's 10 degrees outside and you need to roll down windows at dusk to see if any cars without headlights on are coming.

20% is a nice number

I would say 20% all the way around. I went with 35% up front and %20 on the rear windows and wish I would have gone with all 20%.

I had 20% all around prior to getting pulled over on an unrelated charge... definitely was not enough for me. It works for shade against the sun for certain, but it is still transparent to an extent and you are still visible from the outside (which is why I got my tint in the first place--privacy).

I went with the 20% along the lines of less chance of being pulled over. But if a cop notices your tint, and your car is illegally tinted... he will pull you over regardless. Plus, if you get pulled over for something else, they'll likely just add that to the list. Kinda like no front plate citation... except a bit more expensive to correct and then break again...

Now I'm at 5% all around since having to strip off the 20% a few years back. I have had cops come up to me and look at the tint and continue on their way. Must be dumb luck so far. Visibility issues are true as stated above... in a well lit city environment you will see more or less fine if you drive safely. No matter what anyone says, it will impede your vision in low-light environs. Go with what you are comfortable with.

I will say though, women are much more shameless when they have the security of mind that nobody can see into the car with the windows up...

i had 5% all around on my last car, never got pulled over. now i have 15% and have been pulled over twice, both unrelated to the tint, but they didnt say a word about it. this tint is old and when i get it redone it will be in limo (5%).

Getting pulled over for it depends on where you live, how the cops are, and also how much of a jerk you are

Honestly, it doesn't matter that cops don't bother you for 1% tint where you live. Would you be willing to put it in writing and garantee someone they won't get bothered at all and pay their ticket if they do?

Sorry, i just find it funny when guys all chime in with 'I run off-roah h-pipe, 150,000K HID's and spray painted windows and the cops don't bother me!"

I have 15% on mine and love it, Im really glad I didnt go any darker. Its still kind of a pain with 15% at night backing up and stuff but not bad enough that I would change it.
