I'm about to make an offer on a rebuilt SVO motor with 0 miles, what would you offer for this motor? I'm trying to get it complete, wiring harness, turbo, piping, intercooler, all of it. At the moment I am thinking nothing over 800, and surely wanting to get that lower.

Who rebuilt it? If it's a rebuilding company, they probably used hyper pistons. If you're sure it's forged, and can get everything with it in decent condition, I'd say maybe $500.

Mine(85 TC engine) just got rebuilt and it was around 800 bucks. It is .030 over with corresponding pistons, only things reused were the rods.

He also set the compression ratio at a near perfect 8:1, it was 7.6:1 from the factory.

I would think if you got it for 800 complete you would be sitting pretty.

Depends who built it, what parts where used, if it was bored, etc.

If I ever bought a "rebuilt" motor I'd have to tear it down and redo it just to make sure everything was right.

Oh, and stock compression was 8:1 not 7.6:1.

If it has forged pistons and a good D port head...around five duckies!
