I bought some almost brand new toyo's 305/50/20's for the expedition yesterday at the swap meet. Typically what size wheel would you recommend ?

20x8.5 or 20x10's? and whats the difference in the 10mm, -6am, 18bmm, 10c

heres where im getting the info from..

Offset: The offset of a wheel is what locates the tire and wheel assembly in relation to the suspension. More specifically, it is the measured distance between the hub mounting surface and the centerline of the rim. Our Info Center has more information in the Wheel Offset page.

S
Finish: With hundreds of different wheels there are dozens of different wheel finishes. They are clearly marked at the end of the wheel size (ex. S = silver).

If I had to guess based on my previous post 10mm = 10mm offset with any finish; -6am = -6mm offset with aluminum finish; 18bmm = 18mm offset black finish; and 10c = 10mm offset with chrome finish.

so the offset is how far the wheel sticks out from the wheel well? or wait thats the 8.5-10. part. I want them to stick out not be sucked under the wheel well..

20 x 10 5-135 10c =

20 = 20" tall wheel
10 = 10" wide wheel
5-135 = bolt patern (5 lug - 135 the distance from 1 lug to another)
10c = offset and finish

the width and offset are two different things, the higher the offset the more the wheel will stick out away from the axle. You want a higher offset with a narrower wheel to bring it out more to match up with the fender and vice versa. I don't know enough about expy's, or wheels for that matter to know what offset you would need.

They should fit the 20x10's nicely. There are quite a few people that throw 305's on a 18x9 wheel for the rear of their Mustangs.

Wow 20's... Damn big pimpin eh... Eveyone i've talked to who has 20's said they wish they went with 22's. Just a thought.

As for the rim size don't get the 20x8.5 cause with the 305/50/20 tire it will bulge big time. When I had my expy I was going to get a set of Harley davidson 20x9 rims with a 305/50 tire. I run 22x9.5 with a 305/45/22 tire so I think 20x9 or 20x10 should work.

My truck.

Here are some pics i found.

Here is one with 20x9 with 285/50 tires.

Foose spank I think 20x9 or 20x10 with 305/50 tires.

Hey thanks for the pics, I really wasnt looking for rims and tires . Its just the tires were a awesome deal, so now I need rims.. Thanks for the info on the 8.5's I was just thinking the 8.5 my gas mileage would be alittle better? Ill look for 9's or 10's then. but finding the 9-10's on ebay is impossible.... Wonder what I could sell my stocks ones for? the tread is awesome...

No matter how much chrome you put on a big SUV, it's still a big SUV. Save your money.

I'd look around like tirerack.com or tires.com etc I think they have cheep rims. The Harlry Davidson rims on ebay are cheep. I'd keep the stockers just in case you want to go play in the snow.

beware of cheap wheels Misha, you really get what you pay for, I've seen weels like that off of E-bay come Bent, or cracked out of the box. The chrome they use on those is really cheap, count on it pitting and rusting in a year. Buyer beware...
