Whats the difference between a stock 289 intake and a shelby intake?

I have a 1966 mustang with a 289v8 with some body mods and so on. My ? is whats the difference between my stock 289 intake and a shelby intake that Carrol Shelby used on the Shelby's? I have the chance to purchase a 66 shelby intake with a matching Carb for only 125.00. I know the individual from church, so he is a very reliable fellow. I have made many purchases from him for parts in the past. He deals strictly mustangs. Someone with this info, would greatly appreciate it.

well that would definately be a great deal, normally the intake(if its really a shelby) would normally e-bay for $150+, the carb.(should be a autolite 4100 or early holley) would go for between $80 and 100 if used and needed rebuilding. Go for it!

Dual plane mid-rise intake with "Cobra" casting on the intake.
I think the OEM would have some letters casting on the front runner. While the aftermarket will not.
