I need to get my 2 front wheels powder coated. Brake dust on white and some curb rash from the previous owner have taken their toll on the paint and the white is starting to look dull. Anybody know exactly what the color or paint code is for the white saleen wheels for 2002?

When I had the wheels powdercoated on my 96 Speedster, I had them do a high gloss white and it looked perfect.

There is no paint code for the white. The original wheels were painted and not powdercoated.

Go as bright as you can with the white powdercoat. Since they get dirty so quick it's just better that way. When it comes to powdercoating you don't have a lot of paint color options like you do with paint.

I have a really good powdercoat guy here in Los Angeles. Ask SVT Saleen here on the board how his wheels are holding up. They are from my guy.

Is powder coating wheels alot better than getting them painted? Just wondering if i cant find a powder coat shop, i might have to just get them painted. If i do get them painted i guess the paint code for the car should work.

Powdercoating is a stronger bonded paint. It literally baked onto the rim. I had my STERNS powdercoated and they are holding up great.

Powedercoating is far more durable than paint. If I can get something powdercoated rather than painted in the future, I will always choose powdercoating.

I painted my wheels with the same Base coat, clear coat as the car so everything matches. Durable enough for me. I must confess Painting is much cheaper for me because thats what I do.

Powder Coat...High Gloss White....then find someone to use a touchless tire mounting system or one with rubberized rim stablizer.....try the place that sells your local 22 inch spinners. They can mount them without messing them up. This isn't a job for a local tire mounting establishment.

Good Luck

I had mine powdercoated too - now on the car over 50,000 miles still look good and shiny -

The white was a Bright White, no code for it, but if you paint, just use the paint code on the car, Performance White, Crystal White Clearcoat or what ever they called it.

If you drive it much, spend the extra dollars - you will be a lot happier.
