So I finally picked up a 5.0 last spring and had it as my daily driver over the summer. It's a great car and I love it to death. But it does need some work and spring is coming back fast and I would like to do some work to it before spring.
Here's what I'm thinking:
The engine was rebuilt about 10k miles ago, but it's dirty as hell, and I don't like having a clear car and a dirty engine, so rebuild/clean.
The car is basically stock except for Flowmaster American thunder catback, a cold air intake, and short throw shifter. It needs more power. I'd like to do a few bolt ons.
The exhaust needs to be replaced, I like my car to roar but this thing is insane, and for some reason the previous owner cut the exhaust behind the rear axle because the tips were "scraping the ground", so the exhaust is blowing on the rear axle. I'd like to go side exhaust but I can't find one for a 5.0 anywhere.
Rear brakes are drums, those need to be swapped for discs... and no I don't want a 5lug swap.
New rims, those are 15" and the tires arent the biggest, I bottom out everywhere. I'd like to get at least some stock 16's on there.
The interior is in good condition, but I want to redo it. I like the back in black kit from 50resto.
Suspension, I'm eventually going to want to do a lot with it, but I consider this the last thing on my list.
Where do I begin? I'm kind of stuck here and any suggestions are a great help.
