ok guys im doing a 4cyl to v8 swap..1990 4cyl notch. bought a 1990 engine harness comp etc. most of the plugs worked out but ive got a few questions. i think i may be missing a section.

both of these wires are coming off the main harness that plus into the computer. in the first pic the one of the left is the eec ground correct? i cant find anywhere to plug that in and the one of the right according to the wiring harness goes to the a.c anyone have a pic or or diagram of where the eec ground should connect too?

ive got a few other connectors im not sure about but i can only upload two pics at a time so i guess one problem at a time lol

In your 1st pic. The plug on the left is a ground. There should be a connector behide the battery. It's only about 3 to 5 inchs long. Heres a very bad pic of it on one of my parts cars.

The other plug should plug into another harness like this one.

The other end plugs into the A/C.
If your not useing the A/C i would'nt worry about it. Here what it should look like. Again it a parts cars but you get the idea i hope.

Hope it helps you out.

I'm going out on a limb and say you have one extra connector up by the brake booster. Do you know what year harness your using? Maybe somebody will correct me but i belive you can only use a harness from a 90 and a 90 only. If i'm not wrong the 86 had it's very only harness. 87-88 had there own harness. 89 had there own harness. 90 had there own harness. 91-92 and 1/2 of 93 had there own and switched to a diffrent harness for the rest of the year.

So in saying that i belive the 89 harness is the only plug and play harness you can use on 87-88. And in 90 the only plug and play harness you can use for a 4 cyl swap is a 90 harness out of a 90 8 cyl. I may be wrong but maybe someone will chime in and say yes or no

Sure. I don't see why not. Put an eye on it and ground it to the body.

Post the wire color and stripe color and we may be able to provide some more help. The wire and stripe color help identify the circuit function.

The red/green and tan/yellow go to the ignition coil.
