ARRMMMYY Training SIR! In the glorius desert south of Boise Idaho. It was a tropical 95 degrees so the 50 lbs of gear and body armor kept us nice and cozy. The dust doubled as a great anti perspirant since it was just like talcum powder. Then, when it rained, we got to cool off and enjoy a luxurious mud bath... I did get to do an air assault in a Blackhawk helicopter, drive another Humveee and there was plenty of ammo to go around... The last few days were recovery and cleanup so they gave us beer and plenty of war movies... Oh the really bad pic of the girl is a waitress at a sports bar in Boise when they gave us liberty to go into town. These are all celphone pics....

Only 50lbs of gear? You definitely are in a mech unit. Good times!

No, I'm 11 bravo, Infantry. It would be heavier if we wore the pack. I carry a bit more than normal as a combat life saver with med kit and litter in my assault bag.

Take the "r" out of that Paul, you jarhead! Hoooaaahhh! Though, I guess Jordan gets to choose, judging from his present and past branches of service... I had a contract for 11X (11B with ranger contract), but got out to take an Army ROTC scholarship at Oregon (as you can see from my avatar). If not for a rare muscular condition I developed, I would be an infantry Lt. right now! Oh well. Paul and I have a lot in common! At least I am jump qualified.

Why you want to jump out of a perfectly good airplane is beyond me...

Actually, considering the choppy ride and state of disrepair that was evident in the C-130's I jumped, it was my goal to exit each bird as quicky as possible, before any of them caught fire or experienced any of a host of possible mechanical failures. The aircraft are so small that to fit a full chalk of paratroopers, the jumpmasters had to literally walk over us to check things before we jumped. It was better to be falling slowly in a T-10C then to remain in those damn plains with over 100lbs of sh%@ attached to me!

I know but I'm not army to say it like that, I say Hoorah like every Teufelhunden does.

I got 18 jumps under my belt also but not from the marines, I used to skydive before.

You proved my point; you are not army! Just kidding. It's all the same to me. Civilian skydiving is a much different experience; more organized, subdued, comforturable and fun. You're lucky. I'll probably do it some day.
