I have an '06 GT on order and have decided to get an axel-back exhaust for it. I was just wondering which axel-back kit is the best one. What are your opinions?

It's all personal opinion. There really is no "best" one.

Any combination of axleback mufflers are both "good" and "bad"...

Good because they sound loud, more aggressive and scare little kids out of your way...

Bad because they all drone at some point and may be irritating to listen to over a long period of time...

Prices vary too!!!

I was at my ford dealer today and they had a GT all done up in the show room with the new Carrol Shelby wheels and Ford Racing's rendition of an axel back system. I had one of the salesmen fire it up for a sec and I now know which system I am going with

I went with Borlas on mine, and it sounds bad-azzzz! Especially at WOT, not too much drone in lower rpm's, cruising in 5th I can barely hear it. I do get some popping when downshifting, especially 3-2 and when I slow down in 2nd, but nothing extreme.

MagnaFlow Axle Back

I've got a MagnaFlow Axle-Back kit on my '06 GT. It sounds Great! (if you don't want a REALLY loud sound.) It has a deeper sound than stock, but it's not as loud as the Borla's. On the inside of the car, it "sounds-off" when I accelerate and "quiets-down" as I begin to cruise; there isn't much of a drone either. Everyone tells me that it sounds Great, but don't get the Magnaflows if you want a LOUD sound. check out the soundclip @ magnaflow's website:

I have the Ford Racing axel backs and am very happy with them. I got the straight through ones which are actually made by Borla. They are much louder than stock and while they sounded good at first, they even sound better now that I have added Ford Racing shorty headers.
A lot has to do with personal opinion though, I know my wife, and probably my neighbors, think they are too loud!

I Have the MAC's, They sound great, Low pitch sound, not too loud but loud enough to turn heads. Down side, the "dreaded DRONE" getting used to it, does not bother me as much

My vote goes for SLP loudmouths as long as you keep the stock mid-pipe. I have not had much luck using them with aftermarket mid's.

I had the SLP's before I got the MAC's, I did Like them but I think they sound better on a Manual Trans. Auto Trans make the SLP's sound like an old truck missing it's muffler. so I got the MAC's....

One thing I can Say about the SLP's NO DRONE.. but then again they are not mufflers, there strait pipes (The Best Looking TIPS I've ever seen)

It was slp's for me. There were some good sounding clips on here at one time from a guy "emporer jordan" I believe and it was amazing. Lately the link doesnt work but thats what made my decision to go with the slp's. I have a man trans too. I love it. It is loud enough when you get on it to get pulled over. Easy enough to drive through town too if you want to take it easy. Whichever one you get enjoy it.
