Which mufflers best control the drone?

Besides the stockers, of course. Gonna order some soon.

Straight-through mufflers will have the least amount of drone, as air swirl and turbulence are virtually non-existent.

Some chambered mufflers have drone, but most of them have gotten a lot better as of recent.

So the new Pypes Violators should be low-drone...

If it's these (the Violators--which are claimed to be straight through), then yes, drone should not be a problem.

FWIW, I just put an off-road X from Pypes on my friend's 2004 Cobra and the fitment and quality were awesome.

Good to hear. The violators are nice and affordable, too. I think that's what I'll do...

Good luck, and remember, most anything will liven it up from OEM.

Corsa, pricey but no drone. People have also said the magnaflo's had very little drone.

Flowmaster's Sound really nice below 1800 RPM but are almost silent at highway speeds. I don't notice any additional noise over the stock mufflers. I have the 40 series, dual chamber mufflers.

Excellent info all. Curious to hear if anyone has tried the new Flowtech Terminators yet. Very tempting at $189...

MagnaFlow Axle Back

I've got a MagnaFlow Axle-Back kit on my '06 GT. It sounds Great! (if you don't want a REALLY loud sound.) It has a deeper sound than stock, but it's not as loud as the Borla's. On the inside of the car, it "sounds-off" when I accelerate and "quiets-down" as I begin to cruise; there isn't much of a drone either. Everyone tells me that it sounds Great, but don't get the Magnaflows if you want a LOUD sound. check out the soundclip @ magnaflow's website:
