Ive noticed lately this gear sounding whine\high pitch hum that is louder when coming to a stop. I don't remember hearing it before but now that I have noticed it I hear it all the time. I cant tell where its coming from and it doesn't change with RPM or putting in the clutch. I'm wondering if maybe its related to putting in the MGW shifter and more noise is getting in. Then again I had a Hurst before that and didn't hear it. I usually have the radio on but one day recently I had it off and that's when I noticed it so now I hear it all the time of course. Any ideas?

You should have your dealer check on this gear whine for you, 2013 Geee T. Let me know what they say.

Ill have them look at it at my next oil change. Its not that bad so I don't want them saying they cant hear anything. If it gets worse I will take it in sooner.

Update? mine wasdoing something similar and all the dealership told me was they both had GTs and one of their wives had a GT and it is engine and tranny noise tranmitting through the new shifter ( i had the steeda installed at the time) after changing to the hurst and still hearing it i went to MGW and the blowfish bracket and havent heard it since.

I have the MGW and do hear it and it happened around the time I swapped from the Hurst. What is the blowfish bracket?

It actually says when i was looking for a link that they are coming out with a version 2 that will isolate the shifter bracket better for that chattering sound. But they are having compatability issues with new version mgw. Guess i just got lucky i got the old mount with with the old mgw

I'm not getting a chattering sound though. I don't know if mine is engine or trans noise because it doesn't change with RPM but rather with the speed of the car. I can put my foot on the clutch and the sound stays exactly the same.

well i call it a chatterin sound. this is the best way i can explain it. im pretty sure we are talking about the same thing just using different terminology. it sounds like the throwout bearing is going bad but insteadof it happening when the clutch is out it only happens when you are moving and the clutch, brakes, or gears dont matter. they said more than likely its something like the driveshaft vibrations or road vibrations that the aftermarket shifter allow to transmit through bc they are as sloppy and luxuriously made as the stock shifter. i hope we are talking about the same noise. it souns really similar but i would hate to waste ur time. i wish somone else would chime in haha.

I had a bad TO bearing on my last Mustang and its not the same sound. It really sounds like a rear end noise. I bought the car slightly used and the Carfax mentioned taking off the diff cover so something was done at one point on it. The sound cant be pinpointed and sounds like its coming from everywhere.

Have you brought it in to your dealer since we last spoke, 2013 Geee T? If so, what did they say?

I'm still waiting to do it on my next oil change. I don't drive it much so it takes some time in between oil changes but if it gets worse I will.
