Hello all, who knows what the little 5mm bolt looking thing does on the t5? I would try to turn the thing but the smallest socket I have is a 6mm.

I have nothing technical to add, but that is a thing of beauty.

All I can think of is maybe it was used as a fluid level sensor (but it seems kinda high for that), or it was used as a mounting location for a wiring bracket.
Check my avatar and you will see where these ideas are coming from.

See http://www.ttcautomotive.com/English/onlineorder/product.asp to download a FREE service manual for T5 or Tremec 3550
You will need the Adobe Acrobat viewer which is also a free download – http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

FYI: it isn't shown on the T5 assembly drawings, so how knows what it could be for?
