Guys I am looking into getting a major tuner to come up here and do custom dyno tunes for us.

All the details would have to be worked out but I am looking into who would be interested before I get things rolling. There would have to be a minimum of at least 10 cars to make it happen maybe more.

Here is the deal. I might be able to get Tim Barth for Modular Power House to come up if I can get 12 cars to confirm tuning for him to come up.

I would have to have the cars booked for sure. I would have to see if Performance Plus would be willing to have a guest tuner come in. They might learn a few tricks as well while he is here. Other then that it would have to be in one of the places in Calgary.

I am going to do what I can to get it to happen but I will need 12 cars.

So come on you guys this is a chance to get one of the top tuners in the states to come up here and tune right here.

maybe because tim barth is such a well known tuner for mustang that it;d be a great idea. But its going to be super hard to get 12 cars since in sask theres barely any

Doesn't matter where they are coming from. MPH has made some of the sickest Mustangs on the street. Nothing taking away from the few guys in Calgary that tune, right now Tim is one of the best in the business.

I have talked to quite a few tuners and none so far have done what he has done with the 2v cars, of 4v for that matter. Anyone that has tickered with an X-cal or Diablo tuner trying to get more power out of the combos they have, never really getting what they want. This would be a great opportunity to get everything out of your cars.

Because half the members here are under the impression that Tim Barth walks on water.

Just so you know WOT, one of the two highest rated tuners in Canada (Level 3 SCT trained) is located in the Western Provinces. As good as Tim is, I don't see him being any better than some of the local tallent here in good ol maple leaf land.

....it's your dime though.

Wouldn't cost a dime. He would do it on his own cost if there is 12 cars to tune.

And as for him walking on water, no but he does have more 600+ 2v DD cars on the road then anyone else I have heard of.

How much you figure something like this would go for if we actually got 12?

Paul Meister of Steeda.ca is one of them. The shop is located in Milton, Ontario. He's whom I was speaking to when I'd asked if there were any other reputable tuners with his sort of certification and experience Nation wide. He explained to me that he and one other (who as I mention was out west) were of the only two Level 3 SCT certified tuners in Canada. Paul has also literally tuned hundreds and hundreds of cars as well and he too has built a rock solid reputation that’s widely known throughout most of Eastern Canada. He’s done so in the same manor that Tim Barth has, by making great power numbers, providing outstanding customer service and keeping their engines together in the process. On the two occasions I was there the parking lot was lined from one end to the other with all year EFI mustangs as well as one car sitting there that had come as far as Halifax NS and another that was trailered in from Quebec.

The thing that's really going for Tim Barth @ MPH, over a lot of the tuners in Canada is that they're located in a densely populated area where everyone and their grandmother makes a lot of money and drives some sort of "hot" (domestic or otherwise) sports car. Anytime you see any sort of street racing video running around on the net, it's usually coming from somewhere out of the cluster of Southern US states. And when you live in an area like that, it takes no time at all to build up a great reputation if you're at all competent in your craft. As a result, you're bound to get a lot of repeat business and a great reputation.

Not to mention the fact that 95% of the members on this site are US based it's no wonder that word spreads quickly throughout the board. Lets face it.....most Americans could give two ****s about what's going on in Canada, so very few of them are going to make the trip across the border to another Country to have their car tuned and as a result won’t provide the word of mouth recognition that regularly sweeps an American based board like this one....reputable shop or not.

If anyone is interested at all in knowing who the other tuner is (I'm sorry, I didn't ask his name, or the company he works for), I suggest you contact Paul at Steeda for the info. You can reach him at meister@steeda.ca

He's an extremely nice guy and is really talented at his craft.

...or, jump onto the Tim Barth bandwagon with WOT. Tim's obviously proven himself a competent tuner and word of mouth and a slew of hot running cars certainly backs this. I'm sure you can't go wrong with either route, just don't cut the local boys short because they haven't gathered the following on the internet that others have. A booming State in the US is certainly going to generate more quantity and more buzz than a large, wide spread Prairie province in Canada with that respect.....but that's not to say they aren't all doing the same quality work.

Well i can attest to the prowess of some of the local tuners. Even though we had some hicups with my car, Matt from The Mustang Shop has got my car great, we have a liitle work to do to get it perfect because of my bad computer but he is the one that figured it out.. I won the NHRA National Dragster Challenge Championship in Sportsman Class in Medicine Hat on his tune. The car has been blown for over a year now, seen the dragstrip almost every weekend, and is holding together awesome. I've also seen Matthew P's tuning from Techmotion in action with 2 600+HP Stangs just in Medicine Hat and after seeing his personal car with under 400Cubes run in the low 10's, i'd say he knows what he's doing. I'd trust both of them with my car but it would be real interesting to see what Tim could do. I'd be in if you could get Tim up here just to compare to what i know our guys can do. i don't know if I could get to Toon Town though, especially depending on when he would come up to do it. If he came to Calgary i'd be in for sure.

I know Paul is a great tuner in Canada. If he would be willing to come here and tune my car then that would awesome. But I have the utmost respect for Tim as I have first hand experience with not only his tunes but the customer support as well. Half my parts are MPH parts and are all top shelf.

I have been running a Mongoose kit for 3 years and never had an issue with anything he has done. With the parts I have they have made 700+HP. Every tuner I have spoken to here at home has expressed they would like to see dual GT pumps with a dual FPDM, bigger fuel lines front to back, 60lbs injectors, aftermarket rails, SCT MAF, the list goes on and on. All I am "needing" is bigger injectors, a MAF extender, and someone that can tune this combo of parts confidently.

And I beleive the other level 3 tuner you are referring to is Ed Hohenburg from Wolf Performance Engineering in Winnipeg.

Anyone interested PM me and I will keep a running list.

That would depend of whether or not there is enough interest.

Joe,

How many cars are you at? I wouldn't mind having the Mustang dyno-tuned by a good reputable tuner. I am in depending on the date.

I'd be interested,I know I've got some bugs I'd like worked out on my car. But it depends on where, when and how much. Plus will he be working with SCT or Diablosport exclusively?
