I've heard that it will fit but there will be a slight gap due to the the differences between the 03's and pre-03 front fascia.

you have it backwards. an 01 hood on an 03 cobra facia will leave a gap where the hood lip meets the grill bezel. If you put an 03 hood on an 01 facia, the 03 hood lip will fall lower onto the bezel and might come in contact.

when you guys say front fascia are you saying the plastic mount for the headlights, bumper, and grill are different? if so couldnt you just buy a $50.00 03 plastic mount?

You have the modify the 01 to fit the 03 hood.

I know that what I am saying is what modifications do you have to do? is it just the front bumper support?

I would want to get the '03-'04 front bumper for my '01.

I cant stand the upward curve of mine from the side profile.
