Will a 5.0 Upper Fit a 5.8 Lower?

I am getting ready to start a 351 Swap, and am wondering if this 5.8 lower will work with my 5.0 HO upper, untill I can get an aftermarket intake for it?

What did that lower come from? It looks to have the same port shape as the 5.0 upper.

If that's a 5.8 lower, then it should work, but that stock upper is going to CHOKE a 351.

Thanks, and yea that is a 5.8 lower from a truck... I don't care about HP right now... I just want some progress!

yes it will work. i think people like to get the lowers of the 5.8L lightnings. not sure if they are much different then other 351w equiped trucks but i imagine they would be.

ALL of the stock 5.8 truck lowers I have seen have had a slightly different port pattern when compared to the stock 5.0HO upper.
I don't think they will interchange.
I compared my stock 5.8 Bronco lower to the stock 5.0HO upper from my 90GT, and the Bronco ports were more elongated than the 5.0 ports.

The Lightning 5.8 used a GT40 style intake, which is compatible with the 5.0 GT40/Cobra upper intakes. This is the only exapmple I am aware of at this time.

If there is something I am not aware of please let me know, as this would be very valuable info.
I just am not aware of any combo that will bolt together.

vristang i guess thats why i see the guys with efi 351w running the lightning lower and the cobra upper.
