Doubtful that they will clear. I think just about everyone using aftermarket rockers has had to get new VC's. Fox body VC's seeem to work well for everyone. I am in the same situation as you, and am using Comp Pro Magnum 1.6 rockers, I'm not certain yet, but I fabbed everything up and it appears that they will clear the stock VC's. Otherwise just get some Fox Body VC's.
Mine hit the valve cover. I have not changed the cover yet. Can you really just grind off the corner of the rocker? Does it change the balance or anything?
If you look at the stock Rockers you will feel safe to grind alittle edge off the new ones if you need to. I would go with the FOX body VC, you can polish them to look pretty and clear RR better.
I am wondering the same thing...I dont know what kinda valve covers I have but the fit. However there really scummy. If I were to get a ford racing covers (have to decide on which ones) that they say are only for the 93 and below mustangs will they fit ok? And or will I have any clerance problems anywhere...? Anyone have any Ideas? Whats the difference between our covers and the 93 and below anyways... its the same motor and heads....
You can also double up on the valve cover gaskets(helps a little) and if that doesn't work you can just enlarge the valve cover with a ball peen(spelling?) hammer. Just hit from the inside where it is rubbing with the hammer until it clears. You'll probably need to paint the covers after that usually the paint will chip off, depends on how much you room you need. I had to do this on my dads car with 1.6 rockers it took so time but they did clear.
With the Ford Racing VC's you will run into clearance problems between the TB and the oil filler neck. I'm sure it can be lightly modified to fit, I've seen a picture on here of someone whose done it, I think it just depends on how much work you want to do.
The cobras are a different design than the 1.6's the cobras have the upper end of the rocker smoothed/tapered off to clear the stock vc's the 1.6's are wider and less tapered at the top(push rod end).
