I bought a wired FM modulator as a temporary solution for using my iPod in my Mustang. Has anyone hooked one of these up before, do I want to hook it up behind the head unit or is there a spot in the trunk by the amps to hook it up? Also how do I remove the stock head unit?

Since you've already got the adapter, you'll want to hook it up to the antenna input on the headunit. You can splice into the radio's power in the harness for 12v or run it from some other switched 12v source in the console and connect the ground wherever ground is handy under there.

We put a wired modulator in my stepson's Sonata and it sounds just fine and no reception issues at all. I have had bad luck with the wireless modulators though - those generally suck.
