I'm sorry, that's difficult to follow, but I'll do my best. You'll need the 94-95 harness to make it work correctly. A Fox harness can probably be made to work, but I'm sure it would involve some rewiring of other things like anything that goes to the CCRM. Pick up the V8 harness for a 94-95 if you can find one. The engine will swap right over from the 87 no problem.

MAtt, we have a shorter timing cover and water pump....will that cause issues?

Aslo the 94-95 t-5's have a longer input shaft and a longer bell housing...so if you use the fox t-5 you will have to mess with the center console to make things fit properly like the shifter etc.

I unfortunately can't say from experience if the timing cover and water pump will cause any issues or not. I believe BlackVert has Fox accessories on his 351 based stroker, so I'm sure there's enough clearance, but I'd wait for someone like him to chime in with a definitive answer. I don't think you have to mess with the console to use the Fox T5, but you do need to use the Fox bellhousing and shift fork. The 94-95 input shaft is 5/8" longer, so it shouldn't cause too much of an issue.

I would use the 87 5.0L engine and transmission. If you have an issue where the shifter comes up through the floor in the wrong spot, you can always cut out the floor. Swapping from an auto to a stick requires you to cut the floor in the front of the opening anyways. I also suggest using the fox k member as well. They have some slight differences between the year.
