Would 03 Explorer 31 trac loc and 3.73 directly bolt into 00 GT

I found a rear end from a 2003 Ford explorer that says it comes with a 31 spline trac lock carrier w/ABS reluctor/Exciter and the stock 3.73 gears with 10K miles on it. Question is will this directly bolt on into my 2000 Mustang GT and what else would I need. I'm not too familiar with this area. Would I need a bearing kit or anything to supplement this product besides some 31 spline axles? And what kind of axles could I get where I wouldn't have to do any shimming? Thanks. It's a good deal so I don't to pass it up. $200 for the 31 spline trac loc and 3.73 gears.

2 problems I see

1. you don't need the abs ring,since your abs has the sensors on the axle ends but thats a easy fix just pull the ring gear off and remove the abs ring.

2. I am not 100 percent sure of this, but I think the IRS side gears do not have the groove for the c-clips...

Not sure if it will directly bolt in, but i used the rearend out of at 01' Explorer in my Mach.

Correct. I need to have grooves machined into the side gears in order to use the Mustangs Limited Slip in my Cougar.

01 explorers are a straight axle just like our cars.. 02 and up 4 doors have IRS. I plan on finding one out of a pre 02 explorer soon.

OK, I have to ask... what would be the advantage of swapping out with an Explorer rear end? Are they much stronger than the Mustang units? Please enlighten the unenlightened.

Its just a cheaper way to upgrade your rear with a 31 spline t loc, and 31 spline axles.

as the above post said it's a cheaper way to get a hold of a 31 spline carrier.

we have 28 spline axles stock and they are not as strong as the 31 splines.
