Would a 03 Cobra 6 speed tranny work on a 95GT?

I know a guy at work with one and is thinking about getting a C4. I told him I would buy the 6 sp from him if it works. What kind of tranny is in the cobras? T56, viper? What's the difference? Thanks.

The T56 is in the Cobras. I believe the Viper is a beefier version of the T56, and may have different gear sets than the original T56, however I am unsure. The T56 will work with the 5.0, but I am not sure what is needed. My guess would be a new (different length and maybe different spline) input shaft and of course a different shifter.

the first gear in the 03 cobra version is better but the 6th gear is not as small numerically in the mustang version as it is in the camaro vette and viper

you will need the conversion kit.

D&D sells it and i believe its around 700, but dont hold me to it.

it will be plenty strong and better for the hole shot than the viper version.
