OK,im getting a 90 5.0 from my buddy in a couple day here. and i was looking at doing a few mods right away. What the car has right now is shorty headers, and some type of cam. Nothing to big but you can hear it. The car has been sold a few times in the last year so no specs on the cam. Im looking at getting the trick flow track heat manifold and a bigger throttle body. Im just wondering what kind of gains i would be looking at with out doing the heads. If its worth the money or to do something else. Right now the car will run 14.1 on bald tires. I just want to get it to the low 13s hopefully with the set up im talking about and some slicks. I know people are going to say do suspension work first, and i will just not yet. Also i am going to put on a offroad x pipe. Think it will get me there???

well if u get some good tires.. also i would get a 65mm TB untill u get some heads... 70mm might be overkill so i am told... I had a off road H pipe and then i went to a off road X UPR and droped me 3 tenths in the 1/4.. u might look at 25HP gain with a intake and TB also if u hook up u should be in the mid 13s easy!

Find out the cam specs. It is probably a Ford alphabet cam which r just OK. If u want a great H/C/I on a stock bottom end 5.0, go TFS track heat stage 2 head from summit, TFS Stage 2 cam, port matched RPM ll intake, Accufab 70mm TB, PMAS 75mm MAF, LT headers, SVO 3.73 gears.
