Been looking at the New TVR Sagaris and the new 500bhp BMW M5

The TVR will do 0-150mph in 20.0 seconds
The M5 will do 0-150mph in 21.5 seconds

I thought they sounded pretty close, but then I thought HANGON, 1.5 seconds @ 150mph must be a fair old distance so I tried to work it out. I hope I got it right but please correct me if I didn't.

a 1/4 mile = 1320 feet right, so X 4 = 5280 feet or 1 mile.

so 150mph X 5280 should = 792,000 feet per hour (fph)

792000 / 60 = 13,200 feet per minute

13,200 / 60 = 220 feet per second (fps)

220 X 1.5 seonds (the difference in the times) = 330 feet.

So I think that means the M5 would be over 300 feet behind the TVR, suddenly it doesn't seem quite as close as before.

Anyone got any ideas how long it would take a stock 99+ GT to reach 150mph and how far behind it would be.

Edit: oops meant to post it in Talk, although I suppose it is a little techy.

When my 2000 GT was still bone stock, I took it out to a local empty highway and decided to see just how fast it would go and it wasn't very quick to 150. For some reason it was like it bogged down at 145. By the way, the speed limiter more than likely had a lot to do with that. Alas, I did reach 150 but I also seem to recall (since I lost the time I wrote down for it) that it was between 9 and 12 seconds.. wait that was with a rolling start too. Crap so I have no idea but that's my experience with it.
