A couple of months ago, I picked up the XMODS Evolution Mustang GT (Catalog #60-8018; $59.99) at RadioShack. Here are some pics:

Although the packaging labels it as a 2006 model, the markings on the product itself say 2005, not to mention that it's molded in Sonic Blue, not Vista Blue. How do I know? Just shine it against a light and you'll see the purplish tint Sonic Blue is known for.

The Body Kit (Catalog # 60-8559; $12.99) is also available, featuring two different sets from Classic Design Concepts and H&R, plus a Sparco steering wheel.

Chrome "Optional" wheels (64F) wrapped in low-profile slicks.

Overall, despite the awkward wheel proportions, I'm very impressed with the design of this R/C. The second-generation chassis is much more durable than its predecessor and the motor has a lot more kick in it.

Among the six available XMODS Evolution models (the others being Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII, Infiniti G35, 1967 Pontiac Firebird, Ford F-150 and Hummer H2), the Mustang's sold the most at my store. As far as performance goes, I've been able to run it at 1,300 feet per minute with the upgrades I've done.

And now, here's the XMODS CDC Glassback:

Talk about "Riced Out." Here's the H&R Springs Kit:

After spending a couple of hours in dropping the ride height and upgrading the motor and suspension - not to mention adding the Command Logic Lights kit, the Mustang is finally waxed and ready for show (along with my 1999 Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 V-Spec and 1965 Mustang GT Fastback).

I have one of the 1st gen XMODS (a RSX) and I had a blast with it a few years ago. The mustang looks awesome so I will definately have to pick one up after Christmas, especially since it is the same color as my car .

Good news: all XMODS Evolution cars (except the Ford F-150 and Hummer H2) are on sale for $49.99 from today until December 31.

Also, check out the official XMODS Car Builder website to see what the Mustang and other cars look like with different body kits and rims.

Well, Santa brought me the '06 Mustang GT XMOD. The Evolution series is so much better than the first gen XMODs just like everyone said. Now I just need to get a few upgrades to make it even better.

I want the elpa kit from one28thrc.com,its the li-ion battery kit. It will be too fast lol. its almost $50 bucks with the charger though.

I put ball bearings and a custom ball bearing motor in my 06 stang, its pretty damn fast on 4 cells the way it is now.
