Engine Engine rebuild suggestions

I don't understand why sbc and rocker arm type matters. In fact, if I recall, in the video, he says it works for all types of pushrod engines with hydraulic lifters. That's why I liked the way he explained it. If I understand correctly, there's like two hundred thousands room for error in the hydraulic lifters, so I think I should be ok regardless :)
Well darn, sounds like you and Youtube have it all figured out....

SN95 Nick's '94 Cobra

My Cobra R hood is painted and back on the car. Never did get an exterior pic as the car is filthy, but I snapped a pic of the underside that I painted myself. It's raw fiberglass finish, so not smooth, but good enough for me. I also painted my intake tube to match. I routed it in a way that get the filter into the fenderwell, as well as hopefully allows me to run a strut tower brace. Still plan to build a heat shield to isolate the filter better, but baby steps.

Rear Thumping Sound

Hey, 16 years old and working on a 1967 Mustang. Has a 351 Cleveland 4 carb. Was driving around and began hearing a loud thumping sound from the rear driver side that speeds up and slows with the wheel rotations. Went back and checked to see if there was a rock or something lodged in a brake housing or close to the rear axle, and nothing. Thinking it could be a worn down ball bearing inside of the axle. Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated.

Build Thread Bird_dog0347's Frankenstang, sure is nice of us to build a car around the fuel filler door

So Kevin is still working away on the body and primer work, but It's getting close to being done with that part. Here's a few pics just to update the thread... once it's all in the same color and panel gaps are set we should have a pic of it all in primer together.

Before and after on the replacement of the qtr's.

And the only panel on the car worth saving and not needing any work.

331cI computer chip

I bought a 93 notch with a 331 stroker kit, GT 40 Intake and GT 40 heads with a 303 cam.
It has been sitting 5 years so I installed a new gas tank, fuel filter and had the injectors serviced. Of course the motor oil was changed as well as plugs and wires and cap and rotor.
It's starts but runs rough with poor throttle ( TPS ?) response.
The previous owner said it ran about 85% as he never installed the computer chip.
I know nothing about this chip, can someone tell me what chip I need to install so I can get the engine properly tuned?

Thanks!
Chris

Engine Engine rebuild suggestions

That's where I'm confused I guess. According to this guy, lifters should be dry:

Once again, wrong engine (sbc) and wrong type rocker arms (stud mount not pedestal mount.
Did we determine what style rockers is being used?
I believe he has pedestal mount?

Water pump flange fell off

I was in the garage warming my engine to do some tuning, when all of a sudden the fan flew off. I shut everything down and found that the fan, clutch, pulley, and flange was laying on the other side of the garage. Can anyone tell me how the flange is held on the shaft? I can't see any provisions for an internal faster or spot weld. Is it just a press fit? This is on a standard rotation Flow Kooler water pump.

Fuel Fuel Filter

A few years ago, i had an AEM methanol kit, Aero 340lph fuel pump and 3/8 or 5/16 fuel lines installed. I forgot which size but it was the next step wider than stock.

I went under my 93 GT to change the fuel filter and discovered that it was relocated to the passenger side and the fuel filter itself was changed as well.

I now have a Power Flow fuel filter. Looking up the specs, this fuel filter is for a carburated engines! Additionally, the fuel filter is fitted with a 90 degree elow on it's left side!

Now.... my 93 GT is running OK. No sputtering. No backfiring. No idle problems. No issues with hard acceleration. Fuel pressure at 39-40psi AND my Mustang guzzles gas like there's no tomorrow. All normal.

What erks me is the fuel filter is for carburated engines according the specs, and the 90 degree elbow fitting that's attached directly to the fuel filter.

My Mustang is running fine but should i concerned about this odd fuel filter?

Rotate the engine around while priming the oil pump with a drill
That will pump up the lifters
Then torque the rocker arms down
That's where I'm confused I guess. According to this guy, lifters should be dry:

Howdy!!

Howdy all!! I'm a new owner of a wonderful condition 2003 V6 "Pony Package"
Thought I'd join the forum as I'm looking for some technical and repair documents for this project.
