Anyone Running Boost On 10.1?

x2!

.....sweet!.....if i get anywhere near that on a safe tune ill be extremely happy!....especialy as an afterthought!
id install it this weekend!,but i have to wait for the injectors and maf,he told me to get a pro m draw through maf,80-90,said to call them and ask wich has the best drivability?,anyone have experience on this?
but i tell you that im exited now!,guess ill post pics of the install soon enough...
I'd go with the 90mm. No point in having any airflow restrictions. The tuner should be able to take care of idle, part and wot with either. I assume you're using a chip of some sort?

just brought it to him last time he tuned it,and i will again....thats all i know..cant remeber wich one...
some good pics of your car there!....i need some of those....well done.

We built a car very similar to yours @smkshw for one of our customers, the blower was the same afterthought as yours too. After dynoning the car with the stock Vortech pulleys it just made too much power, even with a uber safe a/f and super conservative timing. We were able to have Vortech send us a larger pulley (we bought it of course) and had them uphold the 3 year warranty even with the pulley swap. We installed a new tamper evident bolt cap and documented the swap for their records. FWIW, we are a top tier Vortech Dealer which allowed us to do this with their blessing. Long story short, on 6 lbs of boost the car still made 500rwhp+ through our loaded chassis dyno and the pulley swap made longevity a safer bet than leaving the stock pulley as is.

Before anyone says it, I'll head it off... Yes, it is not typical to install a larger blower pulley (ie spin the blower slower for less power) but is sometimes warranted ;)

thanks for the info!.....as for the pully?....is it a vortec direct thing?....or a common pulley?....tuner seems to think so?....i dont want to go there and then have to wait a couple weeks to change it?....ill go insane!

The pulleys are standard Vortech pieces and interchange across every V1,V2 and V3. If your tuner doesn't have pullies laying around they can easily be sourced from summit or jegs for a quick turnaround, for that matter you might be surprised what amazon has (I love amazon... Blows my mind lol). When I get into the shop later today I'll post up a part number for the pulley that we used on the car I mentioned earlier

thanks bud, really appreciate your info, maybe he has them lying around since most ppl would take those off to raise boost...lol....he didt tell me to order one but i will double check.

@84Ttop ...i wanted to ask you,i haven't poked into it much yet but the kit comes with its own flimsy tubing,i see people with the solid tubes going into the fender well ?....is that somthing ppl pieced together or is it a available?

called pro m and the guy said with 6-9 psi i should go with a 80mm for best drivability?....i would hope they know what their talking about?...lol...i wouldnt know,i just go off the net

@Sharad can set you up with the UPR boost pipe
As far as the pulley goes you should have an 8 rib 3.33" pulley stock we used this
2A038-347 | Vortech Superchargers 3.47" pulley to lower the boost to 6 lbs

Can I add here I know the tuner doesn't want you to run the msd but could there be a possibility of spark blow out ? Even with my a trim on 7.5 psi I was trouble shooting and bypassed my msd and noticed a huge diff in how the car ran with my msd not hooked up .

Rule of thumb I go by says add the MSD or Crane ignition box, I wouldn't even consider not having it on a boosted fox. I must have missed that part of the discussion

i already have a msd 6al,the kit came with the msd boost/timing retard box, tuner told me to leave that out?

i have it hooked up back to factory because my timing is different when msd box hooked up?....dont understand why?...its 14 when i first set it (not hooked up),then when i hook it back up,it reads 10?...spout off both times
