I had my ‘86 Ziebarted when I bought it new, but can’t say it helped all that much. Of course, mine was a daily driver for 13 years in all kinds of weather, so maybe it was a good choice.Yep. The Original owner had the car ziebart coated on 11/5/84 and under the coating is brand new perfect metal. But none of these components were coated so they are rusted out. I have to say it was the smartest move he could have made.
Yea, I’ve never known it to do much good either but the floors look great and every other component under there had significant rust. Luckily they are easily replaced. This car was driven quiet a bit in the Columbus area mainly summer tho until 99 when it was garaged for goodI had my ‘86 Ziebarted when I bought it new, but can’t say it helped all that much. Do you have a good way to remove that stuff? Mine was done by the PO back in the early 90s and now its all just a greasy oilly waxy mess. Wire wheels don't really seem to get it all for me, but about the only thing I've seen be even partially effective.Yea, I’ve never known it to do much good either but the floors look great and every other component under there had significant rust. Awesome find,I miss the heck outta' my 85 GT. Subframes, true duals ,maybe some 17" ponies and I'd daily drive it the way it sits.
Yep. Soda blast, acid dip or the hard way...heat gun and a scraper, then lots of thinner and rags.Do you have a good way to remove that stuff?
