Depends on the state. We got rid of most state inspections when they turned out to be fraud opportunities. So if it was never in a body shop, (even for touch ups, those are reported), … and how much major servicing did a 22K mile car need? That’s not many oil changes by mileage. The carfax states that between 1990 and 2017 the car was never inspected. Not sure how someone would put 122K miles on the car without ever getting an inspection done on it.
The seller said the car belonged to her father who passed away in 2017. As far as she knows it’s 22K miles.
Thanks. I might try to see if they will let me go by and take some pics of it and I can post them up and let you guys pick it apart. Its still rust repair. Just all depends on if you want to do it or not.
$5K might be a tad high for a part out
Any ideas how much a shop would charge for the repair?? But, after asking that, with a rusted area like that what else could be hidden??Its still rust repair. Just all depends on if you want to do it or not.

My car is currently in the body shop getting the same repair done plus a full repaint. $5K is what I'm paying.Any ideas how much a shop would charge for the repair?? But, after asking that, with a rusted area like that what else could be hidden??

Where the two pieces overlap is bare underneath where it is welded. Car sits in the rain for years....rust. Same with the hatch. You can see every rust spot is where a trim clip is located. How does a Texas car rot out the A-pillar like that, weird.
