Who buys a V8 Mustang if you care about saving gas :)

I was just woundering what the difference was compared to the 5.0. I don't care about gas mileage because the only thing I got to drive now is my 68 F100 that I have hot rodded. It is a 390 with a solid lift cam, good heads, intake, 750 demon double pumper carb, C6 trans, with a 3000 stall non lockup, 4.33 gears with a spool, and 295/65-15 Mickey Thompson Drag radials. It runs Low 8s in the 1/8th and it gets 6 to 7 Miles Per Gallon. BTW 17 to 23 MPG is great gas mileage. Oh but my wife drives 07 honda civic and it gets 30 to 40 MPG.

Ive seen some bad ass 99-04 stangs but they just dont flow like 94-98.

94-98 stangs are sexy if theyre actually taken care of. 95 percent of the ones I see are beat v6 ones that look like hell.

Heres my car..I dont know If I like the chin spoiler yet.

Boy, I personally love Epik's old Sn95 cobra and the Red 96GT with the smoked headlights. Both excellent representations of what good looking Sn95 can and should look like. As you can see, not much is needed in way of improving them over stock. The right springs (H&Rs) and rim/tire combo makes all the difference in the world with this body style.

Here's mine with the stock, optional 17s with rear wheel adpters(spacers) and 275 DRs to get rid of the pinched in look that the rear has and also another with stock 03 17x9 cobra Rims. Adapters on stock rims and/or the right aftermarket rims with the proper spacings again make a big difference in looks and handling performance.

As for power, we don't have as much options like the 5.0s has and a bunch of bolt-ons don't make that much difference without adding the PI components from the later year mustangs or going aftermarket. At the very least going with inexpensive PI cams and PI intake goes a long way towards being respectable. I ran 13.72 in the 1/4 with my most recent updates and dyno'd at 229rwhp before the latest few bolt-ons to give you an idea where a bolt-on 98 (no tune) is at.

Good luck with your decisions!

I am looking at a 96 Gt that is dark blue, almost purple and has 18 inch chrome bullet wheels, not my favorite, 5 speed clear tail lights, don't care for them either, but I can get a good deal on it. It has 150,000 miles on it too. What do ya'll think about that?
I think all I would need to do is lower it and put some good looking wheels on it and some tail lights in it. and maybe a cobra front bumper and cobra hood. I love the cobra hoods and bumpers.
BTW who likes the 18 inch bullet wheels chrome?
I would post a pic but the file is to big. Is there any way to make the pic smaller?
