Hey very new to the forums;
I have a 2007 v6 ford mustang, ive had her for 3 years now and shes great, im afraid though in my thriftiness attempting to replace the clutch / flywheel I may have royalaly screwed my self,
I have replaced the clutch twice (I have driven a standard Honda for 5 yrs never had to replace a clutch)
so the clutch wasn't the issues, this time I was dead set on throwing out an extra pennies or thousands of them
went with the Spec Stage 2 clutch and Aluminum flywheel, with oem slave throwout bearing
I went to the shop got the trans off without an issue. put her back together without issue
putting the trans back in was a bit difficult the flywheel seem to be a thicker by a quarter inch
I was able to get in the car but it was difficult to shift. I was able to shift with the vehicle turned off.
>turned off vehicle put it in reverse turned it on drove it out of the shop.
>turned off put it in first (was going to leave the vehicle at the shop) I was driving in the first naturally shifted to 2nd so I took it for a spin able to shift but it was harder than normal
> while the car was on I pumped the clutch and it worked without issue for a week
> then a crazy grinding noise was occurring driving under 20 mph starter was whining so I knew I had to take her back to shop I was on my way driving back to the shop , at a toll I had to stop, so I passed the toll in first winding and grinding and it got worse ,
sorry for all the information, towed it to the shop dropped the trans and starter,
> aluminum flywheel was grinding on the starter,(bought a new starter)
> aluminum flywheel snapped all the flywheel bolts and looks like it grinded the engine a little bit photo attached
I have no idea what todo from here I was gonna throw the oem flywheel back on but I was told I need to replace the crankshaft HALPPPPPP
