Mint notch good deal?

Yea if the Notch was stick I wouldnt even be thinking about the GT. I like the Gt because it has some of the mods I wanted to do like gears, exhaust and I like the stang floor mats:D But all stock is the best.

I am going to look at another Mustang right now:D A family member saw it and told me about it. It is a 95 GT with bullit rims, flowmaster exhaust, headers, 96-98 tail lights. It is black with with 72k on it. It is a 5spd. It has been repainted and I guess it looks mint. He said it looks better than his Cobra which is the cleanest car I have ever seen. The guy wants $8000 for it. Is this a good price? Also which one is the best out of the three?

You keep talking about theese low mileage cars.. With my experience buying stangs they all said low miles but theese cars have exempt miles in most states because if you do gears or anything like that it screws up the speedo.. Also the odometer could have rolled and it can be a clean 170K rather the 70k Do yourself a favor and bring a mechanic with you.. Your jumping into this head first when your should be feet first.. Also get a carfax report before you buy anything..

Yea I have a mechanic that can look at it with me. I am also going to bring my step dad and probably a friend just for a couple extra sets of eyes just incase I miss something. I have looked at many Mustangs in the last year I have seen some really big pieces of crap. I think I will know when I see the right one.

Well I went to look at the 95 but it was gone:( I think the guy took it home for the night, because it was at a tire shop maybe he works there:shrug: I am going by again tomorrow after work hopefully it is there.

You might think you know but ive seen some cars that were rolled over before and they look completely mint. Dont go think people dont do that either because they do.. You should Probabbly check the tourqe boxes on any of theese cars you buy too.. Like I said Do a carfax report on anyone of theese cars before you buy.. And ask to see the title and check to see if the mileage was exempt.. If it was deemed exempt there might be a mileage inconsistency there somewhere..

Ok I will make sure I check the title and try to do a carfax. I checked out the 95 today:nice: This car is damn nice. It is freshly painted black with a mach style hood and bullet wheeles that are dark grey. The gt emblems on the side are dark grey. It is lowered, flowmasters, headers. I dont know what else it has but it says 350hp? idk I dont think it is puttin that down.[/U]

no way that that car is puttin down 350 thats total b.s. with headers and flowmasters its probly puttin 200 rwhp down give or take 10 hp depending on how it is running.

And just an fyi... none of these cars you look at ar going to be PERFECT, there is always gonna be some problems cause they are all 11+ years old and the newest fox body is 13 years old and any car with that many years is gonna have minor problems that you can live wiht

basically what i am trying to say is if you really wanted that notch, and if it was as clean as it was in those pictures then dont let a cracked torque box stop you from buying it, cause i've looked at ALOT of mustangs that were rats and beat to piss... and the seller usually thinks they have a gem on thier hands.

I tried to go look at the notch and the Gt tonight and I got down there and the guy said tonight wasnt a good night he had plans or something, I had an appointment and drove like an hour to get there:mad:

Well I went and took a look at the GT and the notch today:nice: Both very nice cars. I like the gt better. There were a few things wrong with it. The idle was a little weird. It would jump around from 800 rpms to 1500 rpms? has anyone had this happen before? There is also a rust spot on the hatch, it is very small so I could probably get it fixed within like a month after I buy the car. The notch was nice it had exhaust and headers. There was also some rust by the truck on the underside. The guy said he would take $7000 for either one, he is asking $7500 for each of them. They both sound nice. I am going back tomorrow to get the Gt hopefully. What do you guys think?

Yea but I want a manual transmission. If it was stick no doubt I would go for the notch. It smells a little funky on the inside too:shrug: I am going to drive them both tomorrow so we will see I might change my mind.

To find a clean notchback is near impossible, you wont regret paying 7 grand for that car, if you want you can swap a five speed in there down the road, and who cares if the paint isnt original... sounds liek something a dodge guy would say.

i paid 6800 for my notch 2 years ago, and while i paid over book value, it was worth every penny cause it had a clean interior all new drivetrain and it was exactly what i wanted.

I'll give you dodge guy:nono:

I personally think its great that people want to pay the most for the notch when it is worth the least. supply<demand.

I bought my car for book value 6 years ago and it was bone-stock one owner with 78 on the odo.

My point was most people put a half azz repaint on cars when they go to dump them. I don't care for sand-scratches, shrinkage, fish eye's and other sorts of crap 90% of people leave on cars or under the paint.

10% of the cars are actually prepped and painted properely including a nice wet sanding and proper buffing.

For the amount people want for crap, I'd keep looking.

Mustangs are like fish, there are plenty out there and it takes patience and the right spot to hook the right one for you.

Do yourself a favor, build the aod, put a hellion turbo on it and go rock some 11 second slips.. 10's if you want to upgrade everything.

Also, the AOD wont be ripping the torque boxes to shreds or tearing holes in the floor like a whored out t-5 car.

I am pretty much set on the Gt for some reason it has me hooked. The notch was nice but seemed like it would need a new trunk. Also for just a summer and weekend driver I think I would regret getting auto. If someone could run a carfax on the Gt and maybe on the Notch that would be great, because I plan to go buy tomorrow. I would have bought the GT yesturday but the bank closed eight minutes before I got there. I would just like to make sure it doesnt have 174,000 miles on it.
