Hello all. My last thread was about my clutch acting up in my 2001 Mustang GT, and now I discovered my pressure plate has collapsed. My mechanic has already given me a wonderful offer on replacing it with a performance clutch. And because I won't be able to sit down and talk with him while he is out of town. I wanted to ask a few questions before agreeing to put in a better performing clutch.
1. Would replacing the clutch with a performance clutch make the car less fun to drive? (This is my fun weekend car and while I do enjoy better performance I don't want to make it a hassle to drive around town)
2. Would a performance clutch wear down quicker than a regular clutch? (Personally I'd like the clutch to last longer because I can hardly ever afford to replace a clutch)
3. If I were to decide to put a performance clutch in which kind would/should I put in? I am very new to cars and mustangs so I have no clue what brands or types would work best for my mustang.
Thanks for your help!
