I just finished up removing the passenger side torque box on my 68 coupe. The frame rail and floor support are mostly in good condition; rust in the typical places. The floor support has good sized pitting where it meets the torque box (pictured), but the rest can be sanded, treated, and painted. The question is, does the pitting appear to be substantial enough to mess with it? I have a replacement, but I want to leave as much good metal on the car as possible.
So, do I patch it, replace the whole support, or just treat it and leave it alone?
What's your opinion?
