Pilot bearing not flush

I installed a brand new pilot bearing in my engine today. It's a Ford peice from D+D performance. The bearing will not go flush against the crank. It was a pain in the ass to get where it is now, and it won't go any further.

It seems like it is as far as it can go. So tell me.. is this far enough? Will it cause a problem to sit where it is? Could it push against the clutch and cause premature wear or could it cause the input shaft to sit too far back?

On a "stock crank" the outer part should go flush at the point of arrow (#1.)
The bearing itself (#2,) needs to go in a lot more.
Punch in the bearing (inner part with a 13mm socket untill its about 3mm into the carrier. That bearing is out too much!
I'm 100% sure about installing this bearing on a stock crank but not a stroker crank

Did you grease the bearing first before you slipped it in? I had to bang the bejeezus out of mine to get in. Its also a a pain in the ass to get out too, so make sure it will fit your crank before whaling on it.
