Possible new daily driver help needed

Hey guys im not new to the boards, just the 4.6 section. I have been trying to purchaser a cummins diesel truck that i wanted buy it looks like i cant get the financing i expected. Plus i will have my current truck paid off in 10 paymentsl. So i was cruising craigslist and came across a 2002 gt black with black cloth interor. has new auto trans, new ring and pinion, new rad,new bassani exhaust, new brakes, new tires, and some more that i cant remember. The driver side door has a ding, according to the owner who is an older man, its been adult owned. The guy said he would throw in an extra door black in color free of dings. If its just a small ding im not concerned, but anyway.Heres the thing, the car has 220000 mile on it, whoo hoo thats up there. From what it sounds like everything but the engine has been replaced or gone through. Now they are asking 5000 or best offer, do you think this car is worth 4500 or so. I really want to make an offer on this and hopeflully give her a good home, im not looking for a race car, i have a 87 t top with a 347stroker and juiice for beatin on.lol
from what i can see in the pictures the body is striat and the paint and everything looks taking care of. I know these engines are ran in taxis and such and they suffer lots of abuse and they go to 200000 no problem. so what you guys think

What should i look for when i check it out, besides the obvious. Smoking, tapping, and such. I know the basics.]
And driven nicely are you guys gettin 22 or so mpg on the highway?
Thanks all
anthony

thats a whole lotta miles!!! it mosty depends on the shape of it man.. 5 g's is a good deal if its in decent shape(engine/drivetrain wise)... but with that many miles on it its kind of a "gotta look at it" kinda thing....

i bought a 99 GT motor out of a salvage yard for $600 with 70,000 miles on it so keep that in mind that the 4.6's are everywhere now a days...

yeah thats what i was thinking worse case scenario if she blow, a junkyard motor can be had for less than 1000 Im def. gonna go check it out and hopefully its as clean as he sayy, and i wan to see the trans receipt and stuff that he claims he just had done. i mean if i can get it for 4500 or so, its a freakin 02, it feels like sucha great deal.

do you have the link or pics?

sounds like an OK deal to me. a '92 GT with 220,000 miles is one thing but an 'o2 with that many miles is quite another, age is a much harsher enemy to a car than mileage. i'd go for it if you can get it for under $4,500 and it's in decent shape

here are some pics so far, i will get more out of him tomorow hopefully.
someone else is checking it out tomorow and i hope they dont beat me to it lol.
