2000 Gt, 60k mi, a beautiful car, but no extended warranty.

Just got word the front end is coming apart with a no. 2 head busted.

Do I rebuild? Replace with a new 3yr warranty engine, used engine, or trade the bitch in and shop around?

If that is your situation I trade in your 00' GT with problems
in for a 06' Subaru WRX or STI because your 00' GT is a good
down payment and Subaru's are more dependable than Fords.
Don't feel bad because I have been having problems with 96 GT
since the day I bought it.I never had one problem with 04 WRX ever
other than regular maintenance and oil changes.
Good luck.

what do you mean a no. 2 head busted? If you mean your head is junk, and just the head, you can replace that head for $350, and it comes with a new cam and valvetrain. replacing one head is definitely cheaper than getting a new car. Kinda hard to compare a 96 to an 04 though, obviously the 04 would be much more reliable due to it being new.

Oh please, a mustang is just as reliable than a WRX of the same year. Youre comparing your cars reliability which are 8 years apart in age and who knows how many miles, owners, abuse, etc.

My friend bought a 2005 STI and the engine went to **** in 8,000 miles, normal driving, occasional redline.

You can get your car repaired for less than $2k. You would probably take the same loss selling a car with a busted motor, so now is the time to decide if you really want a new car, or if you want to start modifying the stang.

I havent had ANY problems with my 01 bullett. And i beat on my car hard. Never been stranded anywhere, never had anything break. (except when i did doughnuts into that curb, that sorta sucked) Only oil changes, brake pads, and bolt ons.
