V6 Camaro Faster Than Mustang Gt?

Did anyone read this month's car and driver?

I can live with the v6 camaro being faster than the eco-boost. But I always thought the v8 models were in a class above?

"The Ford needs an additional 11.6 seconds to complete it's lap... Despite the 100hp deficit, the 1le (v6) laps VIR faster than the eight-cylinder Mustang GT."

The gt350 is a magnificent car. I have taken one over 8k rpm's and the experience is hard to match. However, I was bummed to see it didn't lap VIR faster than the last generation z28 =/

I haven't read it yet so I wont speak to this specifically but power is not everything, especially on a track. I have seen many V8s get beat up by cars with much less power. They usually have a diagram showing the times at different points along the track. It will be interesting to see this when I read through.
