I dreamed that I bought a new car and the computer was connected to the Internet using cell phone technology. It was kind of goofy as most dreams are, the car's engine was an inline 6 (kind of show's you how long I've been around).
I got to thinking about it and it wasn't so far out: laptops now can use a plug in card to connect to the Internet via the cell phone network. Then the Big Brother aspect hit me - no more speeding down open stretches of road with no one to catch you, no sneaky mods to bypass engine controls. Toss in a GPS system for location and a finger print scanner to start the car in place of keys. With that addition, Big Brother could know who was driving the car and were to find you. Imagine that you pass some pokey farmer going to work in the morning. The posted limit is 45 and you hit 60 passing him. Three days later a speeding ticket shows up in your mail box with a $125 fine. To top that off, you get a second Federal Government ticket for $500 for messing with the emissions system!
This was a dream, yet the possibilities are real: post what you think that future cars will have in the form of computer enhancements and the consequences of those enhancements.
